§ Cookie Policy

How we use
cookies.

Effective April 14, 2026 · Applies to all users of .resume

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login state) over time so you don't have to re-enter them on every visit. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel tags — all are covered by this policy.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

.resume uses three categories of cookies:

• **Essential Cookies** — Required for the Service to function. These handle authentication (Clerk), session state, and CSRF protection. They cannot be disabled because the Service will not work without them.

• **Analytics Cookies** — Help us understand how the Service is used so we can fix bugs and improve performance. We use a third-party error monitoring service that captures performance traces and uncaught exceptions. No personal identifiers are collected beyond what is necessary to diagnose issues.

• **Marketing Cookies** — Reserved for future use (A/B testing, feature experiments). None are active today.

3. Third-Party Services

The following third parties may set cookies when you use .resume:

• **Clerk** (authentication) — essential, always on • **Supabase** (database) — essential, always on • Error & performance monitoring — analytics, optional • **Upstash** (rate limiting, Redis) — essential, always on • **AWS S3** (file storage) — essential, always on

Each third party is contractually required to process your data under their own privacy policies. Links to those policies are available on request.

4. Your Choices

You can accept, reject, or customize your cookie preferences at any time using the banner shown on your first visit. Your choice is stored in your browser for 12 months, after which you will be asked again.

You can also change your preferences later using the "Manage Cookies" button below or in the site footer.

Essential cookies cannot be rejected because the Service requires them to function.

5. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT signals, so .resume does not currently honor them automatically. You can achieve the same result by rejecting non-essential cookies through our consent banner.

6. Cookie Retention

Different cookies expire at different times:

• Session cookies — expire when you close your browser • Persistent cookies — expire after a set period (typically 12 months or less) • Your consent preference — stored for 12 months, then you are asked again

You can clear all cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will log you out and reset your preferences.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via the consent banner or in-app notice.

8. Contact

Questions about this Cookie Policy or our data practices? Use the feedback widget in the app, or refer to the contact information in our Terms of Service.
